I had a Grand Caravan as a taxi today, and immediately missed the ex-police Crown Vic Interceptors I typically get. The Crown Vics have more comfortable seats, more trunk space, more power, and sound better, too. The only advantage I could see with the Caravan was the ability to seat more than 3 people in the back, but I was the only one in the cab. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I hope I don't get stuck with a Grand Caravan as a taxi again. There's a good chance I won't, since most of their fleet is Panther based.
Also, who thought power sliding doors and power liftgates were a good idea? They take way too long to open and close compared to if they weren't powered.

Ah yes...it's only been 3 years and they are already crying for return of the Panther. My plan is working.

Can we have gramophones back?
I just inserted a CD into a car's CD-player, it just wasn't the same. There was no crank! And it starting playing immediately, although I was alone and wanted to bang some rocks to make a fire to warm my cave first.

Exactly and can we have potatoes back instead of cameras? There is nothing like taking pictures with potatoes...

It's because taxi company managers only look at age, cost, MPG numbers and carrying capacity.
I actually wonder if some taxi companies have a policy about the age of the vehicles, like 'not over 5 years old'. That would make a lot of perfectly usable Crown Vics unable to be bought by them.

I do like vinyl (and analog in general), but I like mine without a crank.
To continue my old-fashioned streak, my flight today was on a turboprop.

I honestly believe that the local taxi company (Erie Yellow Cab) only cares about cost. Most of the fleet consists of re-purposed Crown Victoria Police Interceptors with over 350,000 kms on them. They all have mismatched seats, rubber flooring, and missing interior trim. I believe I've seen one of them that still had the spotlight. None of them are yellow in the door jambs or under the trunk lid. I believe most of them were bought at an auction in Canada and imported.

it could be worse. one of the cab companies where I live uses Scions (the box ones.. xB? don't care enough to look the model up). no cargo space, no comfy seats, limited number of passengers. the only benefit is high MPG, which the cab company doesn't carry over to the customer.
